Jeff Dunham Show (Concert)
At
the John Q. Hammons Arena, Springfield, MO
We had a great time tonight while witnessing at the Jeff Dunham Show. There were approx. 13 people that came out to share the gospel, pass out gospel tracts and open air preach - with a loudspeaker.
Those who came out were: me, Keith Donaldson and his wife, Dany, and daughter, Carolyn. Nick and Dawn Smith, Greg Marlin & Steve Williams with Born of Him Ministries, Dennis Vance and his daughter, Summer, with Seek and Save the Lost Ministries. Greg's pastor, Jeff White, and another young man from Greg's church named Peter Wahl. There may have been more, but I can't remember.
When I arrived, some were already here, passing out gospel tracts to those who had started arriving to the show. There were some good one-to-one witnessing conversations going on as well. I unraveled my gospel sign, put it together and stood it up. It makes a great impression. It says, "Trust Jesus" on the other side.

Greg went out and got his loudspeaker, stand and wireless head-set microphone and set it up for open air preaching. Dennis began the night. The people walking by are able to see the gospel sign, hear the gospel being preached, and get handed a gospel tract.

Dennis' Young Daughter, Summer, Holding the Gospel Sign
Now, I have to say, having Dennis' daughter, Summer, come out with us was fun. She was passing out gospel tracts, holding the gospel sign, zipping around all over the place, and keeping the mood light. It's great to see young people who love the Lord and are not ashamed of the gospel.

Keith Passing Out Gospel Tracts
I've been in touch with Keith on the phone and though e-mail and Facebook. It was good to finally meet him in person. It was great to have his daughter out with us as well. As Keith said, young people "are excited to meet more people...and kids...that really love Jesus enough to share him with others." Keith is getting ready to teach a Way of the Master evangelism class at his church.
Pastor Jeff Open Air Preaching
Pastor Jeff is Greg's pastor. It's unusual to even find a church where the pastor believes in and supports those who want to go to the community to street witness. It's even rarer to find a pastor who supports you, goes out to the streets with you, AND stands up on the box and open air preaches to the crowds. Pastor Jeff does this. Praise God. He did a great job open air preaching.
Steve Open Air Preaching
As various people were open air preaching, the crowds would sometimes yell things - heckle the preacher. If you've been preaching very long, this is what you like to hear. It means that the message is bringing conviction to them and they are responding.
We always try to get the heckler to come back and join in on the conversation. Many times, however, they just want to "hit-and-run". I would much rather someone get convicted and say something than be apathetic and not even care that they are on their way to hell.

Me Holding the Gospel Sign
Towards the end of our time there, a woman leaned out of her car window and kept yelling, "Hey, hey" to me. Finally I turned around. She said, "You're a bunch of evildoers", or something to that effect. It made us laugh. However, the more important part of this, is that she noticed the sign, it convicted her heart enough to say something. That's what we love to hear.
I thank God for allowing me to go out and share the gospel with folks. Also, it's great that other Christians sacrifice their time and come out to witness to those who are on their way to hell. Not everyone is headed to hell, but the bigger majority of people are.
Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
In Christ,
Brad St. Clair
